Greg Lindsey, Nationally Respected Tax Lawyer, Joins Firm
We are excited to announce that Greg Lindsey, CA, a nationally respected tax lawyer, has joined our firm as an equity partner. Mr. Lindsey brings 20 years of experience in the area of tax law, with a focus on personal and corporate tax and estate planning. His most recent experience was leading the tax group at a national law firm. He will bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our firm.
Mr. Lindsey joins founding partner Dennis Nerland, Q. C., another nationally respected tax lawyer with close to 40 years of experience in the area of tax law, with a focus on tax and estate planning for high net worth individuals, in leading what is already one of the strongest and deepest tax teams in Western Canada.
In recognition of these two tax leaders, we are also excited to announce that the firm name has been re-branded to Nerland Lindsey LLP. Our new web-site can be found at www.nerlandlindsey.com.
About Greg Lindsey (Bar Call 2001):
Mr. Lindsey has extensive experience with private and public business owners, high net worth families and family offices, exit/monetization transactions, investments and private equity and hedge fund formations and structuring including inbound and outbound financings and related business arrangements. He provides straight-forward solutions in a tax-optimized manner for highly complex structures, wealth succession plans and investment and business transitions.
Mr. Lindsey has also completed his chartered accountant and trust and estate practitioner (TEP) designations.
About Matthew J. Rahman (Bar Call 2014):
Matthew J. Rahman’s practice focuses primarily in the area of private capital, with a specific emphasis on high net-worth, succession, family office and related tax planning, corporate acquisition and reorganization tax planning, and private equity and hedge fund formation and structuring, including inbound and outbound financings and related business arrangements. Mr. Rahman received his Juris Doctor (with distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan.
About Katherine L. Ratcliffe (Bar Call 2016):
Katherine L. Ratcliffe practices in the areas of tax, wills and estate succession planning. She has experience drafting wills, enduring powers of attorney, personal directives, and deeds of trust, as well as providing advice on the use of family trusts. She is also a student member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is currently enrolled in the STEP Canada Diploma program. Ms. Ratcliffe received her Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria in 2015.
